CANASTOTA - Kenneth J. Burgdoff, 86, of 400-230 Lamb Ave., died Friday, Dec.
17, 1999, at the Oneida Healthcare Center following a sudden illness.
He was born on June 17, 1913, in the town of Augusta, the son of Orley and
Florence Chairs Burgdoff.
Ken had lived in the Canastota area most of his life.
He had worked as a Security Guard for Oneida Ltd. in Sherrill for 35 years,
retiring in 1975.
Ken had been a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and had been a
member of the International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF), Clockville Lodge No.
313, and the Canastota-Lenox Sr. Citizens Club. He was currently an Honorary
member of the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department, but had been an active
member for many years.
He had been a member of the Clockville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Patricia Burgdoff of
Clockville, Clayton and Jane Burgdoff of Kissimmee, Fla., Gary and Sharon
Burgdoff of Pensacola, Fla. and Bruce and Susan Burgdoff of Indianapolis,
Ind.; one daughter and two sons-in-law, Jeanne and David Joslin of Whitesboro
and Frederick P. Farrar of Canastota; two sisters, Doris Bellinger of Oneida
and Verda Weismore of Canastota; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren:
one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Ken was
predeceased by a daughter, Robert Farrar and a grand-daughter Tammy Burgdoff.
