CANASTOTA - Leslie R. "Bud" Wuest Sr., 77, of RD I, Seneca Avenue, died
Saturday morning, Dec. 25, 1999 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Wuest was born on Sept. 24, 1922 in Utica, the son of John and Myrtle
Davis Wuest. He attended Utica schools.
He married Virginia M. Messer on Oct. 10, 1947 in Sylvan Beach.
Mr. Wuest was a plumber and steamfitter with Union Local No. 112 of
Binghamton for 50 years.
Mr. Wuest served as a Corporal in the United State Marine Corps from 1941 to
1945 in the Pacific theater. During that tenure he participated in the
capture and defense of Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester, New Britian, Peleiu
Island and Cape Sudest in New Guinea,
Mr. Wuest was of the Episcopal faith.
Surviving are his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie and Stacy Wuest
Jr. of Oneida and David and Laura Wuest of Oneida; four daughters and two
sons-in-law, Diane and Fiore DeCosty of Durhamville, Darlene and Logan Evans
of Oneida, Robbiii Wuest of Canastota and Penny Wuest of Canastota; one
brother, Philip Wuest of Verona; four sisters, Virginia Tauro of Lockport,
Marion Kawalski of Utica,
Ellen Relyea of Canastota and Betty Meli of Oneida; 10 grandchildren,
Christina Bova, Carin Bova, Jessica Evans, Katlyn Evans, Matthew Carr,
Nikol Wuest, Jaime Wuest, Arika Wuest, Kristofer Wuest and Erik Wuest
and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wuest was predeceased by a brother,
Richard Wuest of Oneida and a sister, Doris Bonnville of Utica. (See Death
