MADISON - Leona Schumaker, 87, formerly of this village, died Wednesday, Jan.
19, 2000, at University Hospital, Syracuse.

She was born on June 12, 1912, in Clockville, the daughter of Lyman and 
Bertha DeGraff Olcott. 

On Nov. 6, 1929, Leona and William Schumaker were married. They made their 
home in the Madison area where they owned and operated a dairy farm until 
William's death in 1984. 

Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Hane of Kirkville and 
Joan and Ronald Foster of Hamilton; two sisters, Mary DenHaese of Munnsville 
and Rosalie DeGroat of Pratts Hollow; one granddaughter, Ronda Russell of 
Rome; five grandsons, Ronald Jr. and Clinton Foster of Hamilton, William Hane
of Kirkville, Thomas Hane of Baltimore and Stephen Hane of Washington, D.C.;
and three great-grandsons. She was predeceased by her daughter, Rose Ann, 
five brothers and three sisters.
