Margaret Wright, 77 Died Here Tuesday
The funeral of Miss Margaret Wright, 76, retired dressmaker, who died in
the Canastota Hospital on Tuesday evening will be held at 2 o'clock this
afternoon in Trinity Episcopal church. Rev. Albert D. Stearns will officiate
and the body will be placed in the mortuary in Mt. Pleasant cemetery for
burial in the family plot in the spring.
A resident of Canastota for over 60 years, Miss Wright was very active in
organizations of the Presbyterian church. She was chiefly interested in
missionary activities and was a leader in the Christian Endeavor
organization. She was credited with having been one of the best informed as
to the denominational missionary program, its needs and progress.
Surviving Miss Wright are a sister Mrs. Fannie Jaquay of this village,
and three nephews, Dow Jaquay of Canastota, Norris Jaquay of Syracuse, Harold
Jaquay of Cicero and a niece Mrs. Erma Smith of Johnson City.
