Paul B. O'Connell
(June 9, 1926 - November 27, 1999)
ONEIDA - Paul B. O'Connell, 73, of 517 Main St., died Saturday morning, Nov.
27, 1999, in University Hospital, Syracuse, where he had been a medical
patient for the last 10 days.
Mr. O'Connell was born on June 9, 1926, in Detroit, the son of Lawrence and
Mildred Mowers O'Connell. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School in Detroit.
He also received an Associate's Degree from Hudson Valley Community College.
Mr. O'Connell married Marguerite "Peg" A. Tarry on Nov. 12, 1955, in St.
Joseph's Church, Oneida.
Mr. O'Connell was employed with the General Electric Co. in Syracuse for 25
years in the Industrial Design and Styling Department, retiring in 1975. He
then was employed as a laboratory technician with H.P. Hood in Oneida for 10
years, retiring in 1990.
Mr. O'Connell was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Northern
France and Rhineland.
Mr. O'Connell was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Oneida. He was also a
member of the E. Bart Hanifin Counsel No. 473 Knights of Columbus of Oneida,
and Oneida Nest of Owls No. 1606.
Mr. O'Connell was a former member of the Oneida American Legion Post No. 169
and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Goyer of
Syracuse and Amy and Daniel Lerch of Oneida; five sons and four daughters-in-
law, Kevin M. and Marka O'Connell of Albany, Dana P. O'ConneU of Syracuse,
Paul and Heather O'ConneU of SherriU, Mark and Debbie O'Connell of Canastota
and David J. and Kristen O'ConneU of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters and brothers-
in-law, Patricia and Joseph Sansone of Oneida Castle and Marilyn and Ned
O'Rourke of EllicottviUe; six grandchildren. Chad Goyer, Sarah Goyer, Flynn
O'Connell, Ethan O'Connell, Jordan O'Connell and Michael Lerch; and several
nieces and nephews.
