Richard J. Havener Jr., 45, 123 Ceder St., died Wednesday afternoon, Nov.
17, 1999, in the emergency room of the Oneida Healthcare Center, shortly
after his admission, after suffering an apparent coronary attack at his
He was born on July 13, 1954, in Oneida, the son of Richard J. and Anne
Marie Flanagan Havener, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr.
Havener was rasied in Verona and was a graduate of the Vernon-Verona-
Sherrill High School.
Prior to his illness, Mr. Havener was employed as a truck driver with
Oneida Distributors Inc., formerly of Oneida and later with Roman Roads
Trucking. He was an avid fisherman and was of the Christian faith. Mr.
Havener served with the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are three sons, Jeremy, Richard and Paul Havener, all of
Sherrill; one daughter, Anna Havener of Sherrill; his fiancee, Diane Trudell
and her daughter, Amanda Hopkins, both of Oneida; his father Richard J.
Havener, Sr. of Verona; his paternal grandmother, Hilda Havener of Oneida;
three brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert and Deborah Havener of Oneida,
Roger Havener of Verona and Ronald Havener of Lee Center; three sisters and
brothers-in-law, Carroll and Jerry Edick of Verona, Nancy and John Beckwith
of Camden and Julie and Todd King of Oneida; and several nieces and nephews.
His mother, Ann Marie Havener died on Sept. 25, 1982.
