ONEIDA - Richard L. Van Riper, 60, of 109 Maplewood Ave., died Saturday morning, Feb. 5, 2000, in the
Abraham House, Utica, following a long illness.
He was born on April 14, 1939, in Syracuse, the son of Alfred and Kathryn Webster Van Riper. Mr. Van
Riper was educated in Canastota schools. He had been a resident of Oneida for the past 40 years.
Mr. Van Riper was employed with Oneida Ltd. for the past 19 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his former wife, Helen George of Oneida; three sons, Jamie Van Riper and Richard L. Van
Riper Jr., both of Salina, Kan., and Geoffrey Van Riper at home; one daughter, Karen Mulholland of
Salina, Kan.; two brothers, Thomas Van Riper of Munnsville and Alfred Van Riper of North Bay; two
sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Viola) Smith and Martha Van Riper, both of Canastota; six grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
