 Shirley A. Kimball 
 Shirley A. Kimball, 62, 428 N. Lake St.. died Tuesday evening, July 27, 1999 in Oneida 
Healthcare Center, shortly after her admission as a medical patient. 
 She was born on Sept. 8, 1936, in Clay Center, Kan., the daughter of Otis and Frances 
Smith Mailen. 
 Mrs. Kimball was a graduate of the Clay Center High School, Class of 1954. Mrs. Kimball 
was a resident of Oneida for the past 42 years. 
 She married Franklyn L. Kimball, Sr., on March 2, 1957, in Clay Center. 
 Mrs. Kimball retired in 1994, with 41 years of service, with the United States Department of 
Defense, where most her service was at the former Griffiss Air Force Base. 
 She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Mrs. Kimball was a member of the 
American Legion Auxiliary, Oneida Post 169, the Gals Club at Griffiss and the  Catholic 
Daughters of America, Court Our Lady No. 1250. 
 Surviving are her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, David P. and Anna Kimball of 
Clockville and Michael C.G. and Melody Kimball of Peterboro; one daughter and son-in-law, 
Kristi and Spencer Carnes of Charleston, S.C.; one brother Edward Mailen of Topeka, Kan.; 
three sisters, Charlotte Vasseur of Clay Center, Mary  Patterson of Denver, Colo. and Janice 
Mailen of Manhattan, Kan.; nine grandchildren, Brian and Matthew Carnes, Tiffany, Corey, 
Kari, Samantha, Lacey, Franklyn III and Joseph Kimball; and several nieces and nephews. 
A son, Franklyn L. Kimball, Jr., died on July 8, 1994.
