William C. Siver

KENWOOD HEIGHTS - William C. Siver Jr., 92, of 712 Braidwood Lane, Orlando,
Fla., and formerly of Kenwood Heights, Oneida, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000,
in the Terra Vista Rehabilitation and Health Center.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1907, in Oneida, he was the son of William C. and
Daisy Thurston Siver.
Mr. Siver married the former Marion Arnold on Sept. 12, 1931, in Hickory
Knolls Mr. and Mrs. Siver had enjoyed 67 years of marriage together.
Prior to his retirement in 1973, he was employed as a machinist with the
Oneida Ltd. Mr. Siver at one time was also the caretaker for the Glenwood
Cemetery, where he and Mr. Keene were the first caretakers in the area to
create the first concrete vault,
Mr. Siver was a lifetime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of
the Elks, Oneida Lodge No. 767. He was also a member of the Silver City Club,
Christ Church, United Methodist and a former member of the Oneida Ltd.
Retirement Club and Community Associated Clubs.
Mr. Siver took great enjoyment in gardening and was an avid gardener.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Ken Drier of
Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two nephews,
Bob Siver of Oneida and Wayne Siver of Frankfort; and one sisterin-law, Joan
Siver. Mr. Siver was predeceased by four brothers, Harrison, Robert, Raymond
and George Siver; and one sister, Elizabeth Nadeau.
