LOS ANGELES, Calif - Wayne Eugene Sawyer, 49, died on Dec. 30, 1999, in Los 
Angeles, Calif. 

He was born Jan. 10, 1950, in Oneida, the son of William B. and Florine 
Sawyer of Oneida. 

He was the 1965 Soap Box Derby Champion of Oneida. 

Mr. Sawyer graduated from Oneida High School and the Lowell Technical College
in Lowell, Mass. He also graduated from a college in California with a 
Master's Degree in Physical Biology. 

He worked at Diemolding Corporation in Canastota, as a Quality Control 
Manager, before moving to California. 

Mr. Sawyer enjoyed bowling, fishing and studying plants and animals. 

He was a gemologist, with a specialty in diamonds, and worked part time in 
jewelry stores in California. Mr. Sawyer was also a licensed Real Estate 
Broker. 

He was an instructor of public education and taught in many schools in 
California. 

Mr. Sawyer was a member of the First Methodist Church of Oneida. 

Surviving are his parents, William B. and Florine Sawyer of Oneida; one 
brother, Neil W. Sawyer of Wisconsin, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and 
nephews.
