Lydia Alvira Bixby ( maybe spelled Bigsby or Bigsbee) She was born about 1817 (Presumably in Madison County) moved to Greene in About 1837 With her husband Roswell Lawton. We believe her parents were Judah Bixby and Ruth Phillips. who had other children besides Lydia - Philander, born 1836 about - Fred born 1828 about - Reuben, born 1821 about and a girl born between 1825 and 1830 and a boy born between 1815 and 1820. Judah Bixby was born 17 Aug 1791 in Colchester, New London County CT. What is needed is to find some proof that Lydia is the daughter of Judah. There may be records of an orphan's court. it would appear tha Philander was Orphaned at the age of 1 and went to live with Lydia. There may also be death records or newspaper records. Also look for Roswell Lawton We have nothing on him except when he died and we think that he was born in Madison County but does not know He died in Greene NY

Looking for ancestors and family of William REED (1784-1852) and wife Jane CAMPBELL. They lived in Oneida Valley Point (Post Village of Lenox). Acc. to Bracy's "Records of Rev. War Vets who lived in Madison Co., NY," William Reed was b. Durham, CT and was the son of Chrsitopher John Martin Reed of Saxony who served in Rev. War and died 1840 in Wallingford, CT. My John C. Reed lived in both Durham and Wallingford and had a son named William Reed b. in Durham the same time as William. I believe the family may be one and the same and am looking for more data on the REEDs. Also, Bracy says William Reed served in the War of 1812. I can find no data on this in War of 1812 index at the Archives. Any clues appreciated! Thanks in advance.
