Supposedly Harvy was buried in DeRuyter, NY, but their records of this as well as land records no longer exist. Anyone out there have any ideas where I can find him?

The death certificate states that he is buried in a cemetery called "DeRuyter Evergreen Cemetery" I realize there is no cemetery called this in that town but I have talked to people in Fabius and they do not think he is in their cemetery. Would anyone have any information or know who else I could call. I have even called the funeral home in which my grandfather went out of and there is no record there. He died on October 17, 1952. I'd appreciate any information anyone is willing to give me.

Alvin S. PRENTICE, born c. 1813 at an unknown location, married Minerva LAUGHTON at an unknown date and location. One of Alvin's children was Milton Emery PRENTICE who married a Miss FEELY at Canastota, Madison Co., NY. It may be reasonable to infer that at that time Alvin and his family was living in, or in the vicinity of, Canastota. If you have any additional information about any of those folks, please contact me at dewald@prenticenet.com..

HERRICK, SPRAGUE, GAGE, TIDD, ARNOLD

RLHerrick Tue Aug 1 09:14:44 2000
Mary Polly HERRICK was one of six children born to Cyprian HERRICK & Betsey SPRAGUE. She was b. September 13, 1798, [proven per family Bible], in the Town of Springfield, Otsego Co., NY and d. unknown. [Dates following are taken from Caroline Gage TIDD's DAR National #19962's application for membership, dated May 19, 1897, Mary Polly HERRICK m. Arza GAGE March 09, 1816, very likely in DeRuyter, Madison County, NY. Arza was b. June 12, 1790 at S.E. Dutchess County, NY and died January 16, 1866 probably in DeRuyter. They had at least one child Edward Lovell GAGE who m. Jane Mitchell ARNOLD. Their daughter was Caroline GAGE who m. Edward Kingsbury TIDD.
Cyprian HERRICK was b. October 27, 1758 in Norwich, CT and d. 1806 in the Town of Springfield, NY. When Cyprian died their six children were Nancy aged ca 16, Silence aged ca 14, Mary Polly aged ca 11, Samuel aged ca 6, and Lemont & Levantia, twins aged ca 3.
The DAR application states that Mary Polly HERRICK was of "Springfield, NY, later DeRuyter, NY." I suspect that maybe Betsey [SPRAGUE] HERRICK may have m. 2nd and removed to DeRuyter in Madison County with her new spouse or she may have removed there 1st and then m. 2nd.
Does any one recognize any of the individuals cited above? Does anyone know if Betsey [SPRAGUE] HERRICK m. 2nd and then settled in DeRuyter, NY? Does anyone know if Nancy, Silence or Levantia m. in DeRutyer, NY? I know what happened to Samuel & Lemont. If anyone connects to this HERRICK/SPRAGUE/GAGE family line and would like more information please reply. - Thanks, Richard Leon Herrick, Holt, MI USA - RLH:mtf:20000801 - RLHerrick@prodigy.net
