Early Settlers - Lenox


Early settlers in the Town of Lenox taken from "History of Chenango & Madison Counties, NY" by James H Smith; pub. 1880. Tried to use year, where stated, person and where they were from.
Lenox was formed from Sullivan March 3, 1809. Early settlements of the town were made almost entirely by the descendants of the early Dutch settlers along the productive valley of the Mohawk. They started migration as early as 1790.
