If he is Andrew Pierce Osmuns' ancestor, he is probably the grandfather of William Osmun 1796 whose father was probably Wm. b. ca 1760-65 - 9 Mar 1835 Catawissa, Pa. There is a land purchase for William Osmun registered 1 Aug 1796 Catawissa Twp. Because we lack the 1790 census for New Jersey and the fact that Capt. John Osman also had a son Wm., the William in the 1790 census living Philadelphia Co. cannot be counted on to be the Revolutionary William.

He was on his way to volunteer at Palomar Hospital just two blocks away from his apartment when a car jumped the sidewalk and he hit his head. He lay in a coma until the respirator was taken off a few days later. The driver, an illegal alien from Mexico, and a deaf mute, headed back to the border was never prosecuted all though the article said he was never found.
