DIED
In Brighton, on Wednesday evening last, Mr. ____ BRACE of Penfield. The circumstances attending his death were
shocking. While returning home from this place in a wagon, his horses took fright and threw him out of the waggon
- his foot caught between the tongue and whipple tree, and in this situation he was dragged about 12 rods. He expired
in about three hours after.

STEAM BOAT
The new Steam-Boat Walk-in-the-Water, lately finished
at Black Rock,
came up the rapids on Saturday, opposite to this village. On Sunday
afternoon she left here for Detroit, touching at the intervening ports, on
an experimental voyage, under the superintendence of Mr. McQUEEN, the
engineer who constructed her machinery.
Her motion through the water, from this place, as correctly
as could be
judged from the shore, was at the rate of seven miles an hour; and from
every appearance, we doubt not that she will be found to fully answer the
valuable purposes for which she is designed.
We understand that Dr. STEWART, the principal proprietor,
intends on her
return, to gratify the inhabitants of this village and its vicinity, with a
short excursion of pleasure on the lake.
