ROBBERY - A robbery occurred on Friday night, in the store of E. WRIGHT, Jr., T. WHARF. A pane of glass had been broken from the entrance door, through which the robber reached his hand and unbolted it -- it not being considered unsafe, as two large dogs were left to guard the building. The desk was broken open, and about eighty cents in change, and several articles of trifling value taken away. On attempting to feed the dogs in the morning, it was found that they would not eat; and it appeared that the robber had fed them through the aperture until they became docile as kittens, and permitted him to have his own way. Whether he got booty enough to pay for the sumptuous supper he have to the dogs, depend somewhat upon the price of beef in the market.

A BAND OF ROBBERS - A body of negroes about forty strong, lately plundered some citizens in Arkansas, and then set out for some province in Mexico. This news being conveyed to the Cherokee Indians, then in council, a company of men under command of Capt. John DREW, was drafted to pursue them. Capt. D. is a bold, daring man, and says he will pursue them into the heart of Mexico, if it become necessary.
