It remained for the police court of Rochester to decide the point. On Friday an action was brought by a lawful wedded wife against a married man for kissing her, and a jury was called to try the issue. The action was proved and a verdict of guilty returned. Justice WENTWORTH thereupon imposed a fine of $7, thus settling the question as to the value of this commodity when put in the market, either by force or voluntarily. The wife of the kisser, who hastened to the trial, declared that a good fresh kiss was worth seven dollars, any time. Query - if it is worth that sum to kiss a married woman, what would be the value of a kiss from the rich, pouting saucy lips of a maiden of some eighteen summers?

FOUND DEAD IN THE STREET - A correspondent at West Bloomfield, writes us that on the evening of the 14th inst, a man was found dead in the street about half a mile west of that village, under the fence, "taking his last rest like a famished and unpitied dog!" From the testimony on the Coroner's inquest, it appeared that his name was Joel MACK, and that his age was about 50 years. He has relations in Otsego county, in this state, and also in Pennsylvania, but none in the region where he died. He has worked more or less for years past in East Bloomfield and Lima, and for a few days before his death, had been at the latter place sick, and somewhat deranged. The day of his death he was seen on the road between Bloomfield and Lima, poorly clad, and in a feeble condition, going east. He had been some intemperate.
