In Huron, Wayne co. on the 12th inst. Mrs. Delila Jane, wife of Fletcher PUTNAM, and daughter of Joseph B. and Elizabeth BRUSH, aged 21 years.
     Leaves have their times to fall,
     And flowers to wither in the north winds' breath;
     And stars to set - but all -
     Thou hast all seasons for thine own, O, Death."

    Like the sweetest flower, that soonest fades from the valley, the sickle of Time has cut her down in the morning of life. She had won a crown of glory in the courts of eternal bliss, and she went to wear it with the "just made perfect." Pious, exemplary and kind, she has left a large circle of sorrowing friends and heart-stricken relatives. A wife but one brief year, and a mother but a few short days, she fell before the all-destroyer, she fell --
     "As fades the loveliest morning flower,"
     to bloom anew in Paradise.

In Wheatland, Jan. 1, at the residence of her father, Cynthia A., daughter of Sylvester and Lucretia HARMON, and grand-daughter of the late Deacon Rawson HARMON and Rev. Solomon BROWN.
-The deceased was one of the first of an extensive revival with which the church was favored, and in pledge of death to the world and a new life in Christ, she descended with her father and some forty others into the baptismal grave, the first Lord's day in May 1843. Her life was adorned with the virtues of her holy profession. As she had received the Lord Jesus, so she continued to walk in him, and though bound to earth by the ties of a numerous and endeared kindred, she felt not only ready but anxious to depart and be with Christ, which is far better than the most favored lot of earth. Her heart clung with quickened affection to the cross of Christ, her will was merged in that of her Divine Master; his word was her guide and consolation, and often at the midnight hour, during intervals of suffering, she would request her watching attendants to read passages from its sacred pages and sing verses of favorite hymns.
     Thus, on the evening of the first day of the New Year after an illness of four months, in the 26th year of her age, she fell asleep in Jesus.
     And thus shall faith's consoling power,
     The tears of love restrain;
     O, who that saw thy parting hour,
     Could wish thee here again.
