In Troy, this morning, December 29th, William H. OSTRANDER, aged 25 years.
In Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, on the 19th inst., Charles (E or K) LY, Esq., aged 82 years.
-The deceased was the father of Abram P. and Alfred (E or K) LY, Esqrs., of this city.

INFORMATION WANTED - some time last fall a gentleman named YOUNG came to this city to canvass for subscribers to a Know Nothing paper, to be published in New York, and called the "American Sentinel." a large number of subscribers were obtained and many paid them cash in advance. Mr. L. D. PATTERSON introduced Mr. YOUNG to his friends, and, he says, assisted him to obtain subscribers, beside subscribing himself, Mr. P. says the paper don't come as per agreement. He is desirous of obtaining some information as to the whereabouts of the Sentinel and the publisher who obtained subscriptions.

We are informed that our correspondent "Cephas" who walks among the poor, is one of the guests at the plate presentation to Col THOMPSON, at the County House this afternoon. He will doubtless meet many of his old acquaintances and form some new ones.

PARDONED - Caspar SPALL, who was convicted at the late term of the Sessions, of assault with intent to kill, has been pardoned by Gov. SEYMOUR on the application of the Court, many of the jury, and a majority of the respectable citizens of Irondequoit where he resides.

THIEVES AROUND - An article of clothing was stolen from the clothes lines of each of the residences Nos. 13 and 17 Franklin street, by some petty thief, on Wednesday evening. Ladies look to your clothes lines.
