KILLED IN A SAW MILL
The "Union" says that a man named Charles PLATO was killed at Niagara Falls on Wednesday by being caught in the machinery of a saw mill. He was horribly mangled. Mr. PLATO was about fifty years of age.

FIRE IN LOCKPORT
A fire took place in Lockport yesterday morning destroying property to the amount of $1,500, belonging to James Murphy. Insured $1,000.

WATCH FOUND
The son of John HILLER, who resides at 91 North Union street, found a silver bulls-eye watch, in a vacant lot near his house, yesterday morning.

SHOOTING AFFRAY AT LYONS

Last evening, two notorious characters at Lyons, named respectively Thomas CRUMP and William RICH, engaged in a quarrel. During the fracas CRUMP shot RICH, inflicting fatal wounds, it is thought. CRUMP was arrested and lodged in jail. The affair caused some little sensation in the village. CRUMP is a German and RICH an American. This morning RICH was better, and with some expectations of recovery.

PERSONAL - We are gratified to learn that our worthy friend, Dr. G. W. BRUNDAGE, of West Dresdan, Yates co., N. Y., has received the appointment of examining surgeon for Invalid Pensions by the commissioner of Pensions.
Dr. BRUNDAGE is a staunch and reliable Democrat. In September last he received the appointment of Post Master of the West Dresden Post Office, and is a firm supporter of the policy of the executive.

CONDUCTOR INJURED - A freight conductor on the Central Railroad, Moses CLEVELAND, had an arm crushed on Tuesday while coupling cars, at Honeoye Falls. He was taken to Canandaigua, where he resides, and received surgical aid. Mr. CLEVELAND has been for several years employed on the road, and is a favorite among the employees. They will be pained to hear of his misfortune.

ROBBED - A young man, whose name has escaped our memory, was robbed last night of $100, at Niagara Falls, while asleep in his room at a hotel. A room-mate is suspected of the theft. Policeman James SULLIVAN arrested the suspected person this forenoon, but a search of his person did not reveal the stolen property and he was discharged.

THE POCKET PICKING CASE - Mr. SELYE informs us that all the money stolen from his pocket on election day by DOLAN, at the Ninth Ward polls, was restored by Mr. OLDFIELD, in whose pocket it was placed by the thief. It was stated yesterday that a portion was restored, leaving it to be inferred that he, OLDFIELD, retained a part.

DROWNED AT ALBION - The Orleans Republican states that a laboring man named Thomas GRAVES was drowned in a canal at Albion on Sunday.

In Brighton, Nov. 16th, 1866, Isaac RICHARDS, of inflammation of the lungs, in the 66th year of his age.
-Funeral from his late residence at 1 P. M., at church in Brighton at 2 P. M. on Monday, 19th inst.
     The deceased was one of the old residents of Brighton and much respected as a neighbor and citizen. His loss will be felt not only by his family but by his neighbors, whom he was ever ready to oblige.
