United States vs. William KENNEDY. Indictment for selling liquor to an Indian under charge of an Indian agent at Gowanda. Tried and acquitted. Mr. GURNEY for defendant.
 
The case of United States vs. 29,909 lbs of Kentucky leaf tobacco, &c., was opened this morning, and will probably occupy the attention of the court until Friday evening. William S. KIMBALL and Rufus KEELER are the claimants, and George F. DANFORTH, Esq., their counsel. Hon. Richard CROWLEY attorney for United States.

BARON DE CAMIN -- The Democrat published a paragraph stating that this gentleman's name is Arthur DEVLIN, and that after abusing the Catholic Church he has written a letter to the Harrisburg Patriot recalling all he had said, &e.
     Baron De CAMIN is a resident of this city, engaged in the practice of medicine. He called at this office this morning and desired it to be said that the paragraph relating to him in the Democrat is a falsehood throughout.
