ANOTHER FLAGMAN KILLED.  Following fast after the death of the flagman who was killed on Thursday at the John street crossing, another accident of the same character happened on Friday afternoon.  George L. GEIDER, flagman at Hudson Street, while on duty at that point was run over and instantly killed by engine 306.  A train was passing at the time and he stepped on the side to warn the driver of an approaching wagon.  He did not see the engine which was coming toward him at the same time, and by which he was struck, the wheels passing over his head, causing instant death.  Deceased resided on Holland Street.  He leaves a widow and two daughters, who are grown.  He had been employed as a watchman at the cotton factory for sixteen years and had worked for the railroad company only a few days.  Coroner MORRISON held an inquest and a verdict was rendered.

WATER WORKS.  Mr. McDONALD, the contractor, has fifty convicts from the penitentiary and a large number of teams now engaged in the construction of the distributing reservoir for the water works.  This great basin will cover five and one-half acres of ground, and is elevated 110 feet above the average level of the city.  It is situated near the city line, and a little east of South Avenue.  Mr. McDONALD is doing everything in his power to push the work forward, and much evidence of his success is already apparent.  ts
