Death of Dea. Wm. Richardson
Another prominent citizen has suddenly passed away. Dea. Wm. RICHARDSON,
yesterday afternoon, while at his place of business, flour log mill of Geo. J.
WHITNEY & Co., Brown's race, was seized with an acute pain in his side to
which he had been subject for years. He went to his residence, 25 East
avenue, and about 9 o'clock in the evening was seized with vomiting.
Physicians were called but he was beyond all earthly aid and at half-past twelve
o'clock he died.
Deceased came here from Ohio about the year 1859 and at once engaged in the
milling business. He met with many pecuniary reverses and successes.
Soon after his arrival here he became a member of the Second Baptist Church and
after a short membership was elected a deacon in which capacity he has served
ever since to the satisfaction of the society. He was a man respected for
his integrity. He leaves a wife but no children. He was a brother of
the late Prof. RICHARDSON and has, we believe, a brother residing in Syracuse.
The cause of his death is to be ascertained by a post mortem examination.
Personal--Dr. C.W. BARKER who has been for nearly two years house physician at
the City Hospital, leaves this evening for New York where he is to enter the
Medical College. His many friends will be pleased to hear of his
advancement in his chosen profession.
