GORDON CHRYSLER DEAD
The death of Gordon CHRYSLER, for many years chief officer of the steamer
Norseman, running between Charlotte, Port Hope and Cobourg, was announced
yesterday. On Thursday evening while the Norseman was lying in port Mr.
CHRYSLER was attacked with acute rheumatism, and Dr. F. A. JONES of Charlotte
was summoned to attend him. The physician was very anxious as to his condition
and when the boat left he accompanied him back to Port Hope, giving him every
attention but the remedies were of no avail, and shortly after reaching his
home he expired. Those who have ever journeyed on the Norseman will remember
his courtesy and attention and will regret his sudden death. He was always
kind and attentive to all and made during his care__ the Lake many warm
personal friends ___ sides of the water. This was to have been his last season
on the Lake, as he had purchased a farm in Canada and it was his intention to
settle on it. The deceased leaves a wife and _ son, residing at Port Hope, who
have the sympathy of those who knew him in the hour of their affliction.
