--The wills of Emma A. PESTER(?)
and George GOODGER were to-day admitted to probate.
--William MURRAY, under
indictment charging him with grand Larceny and receiving stolen property,
was to-day admitted to $500 bail.
--James M. EMMONS, accused by
Mrs. McGORRY of assault and battery, was to-day surrendered by his
bondsmen.
--Resident Engineer B_SGOOD is
making plans for the conduit that is to conduct the water of the Valley
canal across the river to the feeder at the Rapids. The pipe is to be 30
inches in diameter and 75_ feet 6 inches in length.
--A horse owned by J. H.
REYNOLDS, that broke its leg yesterday, was soon after killed.
--Yesterday afternoon a young
woman named Julia LYNCH, while at work in the shoe factory of Pryor &
Son, on Andrews street, suffered great pain from having her hair caught in
a revolving shaft. Before the machinery could be stopped a large portion
of the poor girl's hair had been torn out by the roots. She was removed to
her house, No. 99 Lyell street, where Dr. O'HARE attended her.
--Another tunnel is to be
excavated under the falls for water power, R. J. SMITH will lay it out.
--The street car recently bought
by the Rochester Hydraulic Motor Co., has been removed to the company's
works on North St. Paul street.
--Last evening Clara, daughter of
E. MINK(?), _ Monroe avenue, was married to Theodore C_NOVIN, of Victor,
at the house of her parents, Rev. N. M. M__, of the Unitarian church,
performed the ceremony.
--E. H. DAVIS, F. L. KING and J.
B(?) WEGMAN, testified last night before the commission to what they
thought was the value of property to be for the new highway between State
and Sophia streets. Their views were very much the same as those of
witnesses previously called.
-- The members of the First
Baptist Church Sunday school will picnic at the Sea Breeze next Saturday.
