Zimri L. DAVIS, for many years one of the best known residents of this city, died yesterday at the family residence, No. 11 Pleasant street, at the age of 69 years.  He had been failing rapidly for a year and his final illness, congestion of the brain, was of brief duration.  The deceased was born in Victor, and after his graduation from the Canandaigua Academy studied law in this city with Isaac HILLS. He finished his studies with General MATTHEWS, who accompanied him to Canandaigua, where he was admitted to the bar at the head of his class.  With Washington GIBBONS he opened an office in Reynolds' Arcade in 1847, afterward associating with ex-Police Justice John WEGMAN.  During the war he was a partner with the late James C. CAMPBELL and had extensive practice in connection with pensions and other cases arising therefrom.  For the past twenty-five years he conducted the law business individually in Reynolds' Arcade, being the oldest tenant save one--Chauncey PERRY.  He leaves a wife, one son, Justin B. DAVIS of the waterworks department and two daughters, Lora and Mattie Davis.  The funeral will take place at the house at 11 o'clock to-morrow morning.  The burial will be at Victor, N.Y.
