TAPPED A TILL
Percy JONES, a colored boy, was
arrested by Officer BLETZER last night on a charge of stealing 36 cents from
the cash drawer in William APPLETON's store at 422 State street JONES
pleaded guilty and was sent up for three months. He was an inmate of the
State Industrial School several years and was released from that institution
a short time ago.

A NON-SUPPORT CASE
Daniel BURKE was arrested last
night on a charge of non-support. BURKE admitted that he had been on a spree
for two weeks. "Where did you get those black eyes," asked the
court. "QUINN gave them to me," said BURKE. QUINN was a man who
had been sentenced a few moments before. "Well," remarked the
court, "that's the first good thing QUINN ever did," and BURKE was
sentenced to serve ten days in default of paying a fine of $5.

MINOR POLICE MATTERS
Michael QUINN was so drunk,
according to the story of the officer who brought him in, that he didn't
know where he was going. A fine of $10 or 20 days was imposed.
--Walter and Frank STEVENS were
arrested by Officer CAHILL, last night, on a charge of maliciously injuring
property. The men are accused of blue-dying a house at 49 Ames street,
occupied by Frank STEVENS' wife, the couple not having lived together in
some time. The examination will take place to-morrow.

--This afternoon Melourgia goes to
Syracuse on the Empire State Express to sing at the evening concert of the
new York State Music Teachers' Association at Plymouth Church.

Daughters of Pocahontas, has elected the following named officers for the

MAYNARD -- GOODGER
The marriage of Mr. H. S. MAYNARD
and Miss Ruth GOODGER was solemnized last evening at the residence of the
bride's sister on Frank street Rev. Dr. TAYLOR officiating. The presents
were numerous and handsome, among them being an elegant, carved oak,
bed-room set presented by the members of Hiakatoo tribe, for which Mr.
MAYNARD has been the efficient collector of wampum for a number of years.

PICNICS AND EXCURSIONS
--The picnic of the Lyell Avenue
Baptist Church has been postponed indefinitely.
--The St. Cecilia Society of St.
Boniface Church will hold a picnic at Warner's grove, South avenue, on the
Fourth of July..
--The congregation and Sunday
school of Glenwood Methodist Episcopal Church will hold their first annual
picnic at Manitou Beach to-morrow, going by way of the electric cars.
--The Western New York &
Pennsylvania road will run an excursion to Portage on Sunday, the train
leaving the West avenue station at 9 a.m.

DEATHS AND FUNERALS
--Phoebe, wife of Bradford
KNOWLES, died last night at 8 Allen street, aged 51 years.
--Michael FINN, formerly of this
city, died yesterday morning in Chicago, aged 29 years. He leaves besides
a wife and son residents of this city, one sister, Miss Mary FINN, also of
Rochester.
--James F. O'HARA died last night
at his home, 240 Plymouth avenue, aged 25 years. The deceased was a member
of Cigarmakers' Union, No. 5, which organization will attend the funeral
in a body.
--E. Blanche, daughter of Millie
E. and A. W. EMERY, died last evening at 5 Brooks street, aged 1 year. The
funeral will take place to-morrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the
house. Rev. J. J. WILLIAMS will officiate.
