DEATHS AND FUNERAL
--Linda STRIKER died yesterday at
the home of her parents, No. 602 Plymouth avenue, aged 24 years.
--Martha, widow of George COX, died
yesterday at the State Hospital, aged 74 years. The remains will be taken to
Albion for burial.
--Henry AKEY died this morning at
the home of his brother, Lafayette AKEY, No. 100 Mt. Hope avenue, aged 20(?)
years. He leaves his father, six brothers and two sisters, surviving.
--Edna May, daughter of James W.
and Sarah May ROGERS died yesterday at the family residence, No. 53 Carson
avenue, aged 13 years and 11 months. The funeral will be held Friday at 2
p.m., from the house.
--The funeral of Mrs. M. C. MORDOFF
will take place on Thursday afternoon from the family residence in
Scottsville, and the remains will be brought to Rochester at 3:30 on the
Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburg, and interment will be had at Mt. Hope.
--Josephine, wife of Isaac
SCHMALHOLTZ, died last night at her residence in Greece, aged 36 years. She
leaves a husband and four children, four sisters and four brothers. The
funeral will be held Thursday from the house at 8 a.m., and at Holy Rosary
Church at 9.

Albert I WALKER of this city and
Miss Jane HYNDMAN of Strathburn, Canada, were united in marriage last
evening by Rev. J. P. SANKEY at his residence on North Washington street.

PUBLIC INVITED TO ATTEND
Can Watch the School Children Plant
Trees at Genesee Valley Park
At a meeting of the Genesee Valley
park committee of the park board this afternoon it was decided to invite the
public to attend the Arbor day exercises to be given at the park by the
public school children Friday afternoon.
A programme of
exercises in honor of the day is being arranged by Superintendent NOYES. The
exercises will begin at 2 o'clock.

A PENALTY VERDICT
Judge Dunwell Decided the
Guenthers Paid Too Much Interest
Justice DUNWELL yesterday
afternoon directed a verdict for $925.68 in the case of John F. GUENTHER
and wife against Amsden Bros. The action was brought to recover for
excessive discounts on thirty-nine notes aggregating $13,000. A judgment
for twice the excess of interest was taken under the statute of 1883,
which imposes a double penalty.
