PRISONER GOT AWAY.

Officer BROWN of Victor Will Not be so Considerate in Future.
Officer William G. BROWN of Victor had an exasperating experience with a prisoner last evening, which is likely to render the officer less considerate of the feelings of offenders of the law in future. During the afternoon word was received that an unknown man was making himself objectionable to some of the residents of Farmington, about three miles east of Victor village.
His offense seems to have been chiefly walking into houses and making himself at home if the male member of the family were absent.
Armed with a warrant, Officer BROWN went forth to arrest the offender. He had no difficulty in locating his man and taking him in charge, brought him to the village. Upon being taken before Police Justice NORTON, the justice stated that as the complaint was made in the town of Farmington he had no jurisdiction in the matter and informed the officer that he would have to take the prisoner before the Farmington justice for trial. Justice GARDNER was drawing in oats and was in a big hurry and hated to stop, but convened court long enough to sentence the prisoner to ten days' imprisonment in the county jail at Canandaigua. BROWN then returned to Victor with his man, intending to take the 8:20 train for the county seat.
The prisoner stated that his name was Charles WAGNER and gave his residence as Rochester. He said he was looking for work and this was the first time he had ever been arrested. He seemed to feel the disgrace so keenly that Officer BROWN refrained from handcuffing him. WAGNER accompanied the officer to the Central depot at Victor.
Just before the train was reached he wrenched his arm from the officer's grasp and fled. BROWN pursued him and fired two shots into the air, hoping to frighten him into stopping, but this only seemed to nerve him to better effort. Reaching some buildings WAGNER disappeared among them and although a vigorous search was instituted no trace of the fugitive was found.
The police of this city were notified to be on the watch and it is thought probable that WAGNER will be apprehended here.

FULLER STILL MISSING

No Trace of Young Man Missing From Nunda.
NUNDA, Aug. 7 - Willis W. FULLER, the young man who mysteriously disappeared from home on June 11th, is still numbered among the missing. Mrs. FULLER, mother of the young man, left yesterday for Rochester and Churchville, in a continued search for her son. QUICK CAPTURE

Allegany Burglars Taken Into Custody at Clyde.
CLYDE, Aug. 8, - Two of the gang engaged in the burglaries here Tuesday night have been caught. They are Albert BOICE, and Daniel, commonly known as "Fliger," the 18-year-old son of James FRABER. All are residents of Clyde.
The boys were arrested yesterday afternoon at Syracuse, and brought back to Clyde by Officer NELSON. When caught each was carrying a large satchel, which contained the stolen goods, none of which had been disposed of. They were wearing hats which were a part of their plunder.
The boys were taken before Police Justice HOWARD and owned up to everything. They admitted others were concerned in the robbery but refused to divulge the names of their pals.
Two years ago young FRABER was charged by several local butchers with having stolen hides, and sold them. He was not prosecuted at that time. During the past year, numerous petty burglaries have been committed in this vicinity and it is hoped now that the leaders have been arrested, and the thieving will be stopped.
