LIFE TOGETHER IMPOSSIBLE

So Bloods Decide, and Justice Issues Decree of Separation

When Bessie BLOOD brought action before Justice William W. CLARK to obtain a decree of separation from her husband, Roy F. Identity Of Girl Killed In Monroe Avenue Learned

Victim of Automobile Accident Was Mae Goodrich, Who Lived With Brother

It was Miss Mae GOODRICH, 20 years old, who boarded with her brother at No. 148 South Fitzhugh street, who was mortally injured by an automobile in Monroe avenue near Shepard street Sunday forenoon. The identification was made late yesterday afternoon by several persons who room at No. 148 South Fitzhugh street. Leonard GOODRICH, brother of Mae, identified the young woman's clothing, but could not bring himself to the point of viewing the body.
Miss GOODRICH, who was about 20 years old, came to Rochester from Bath, Steuben county, about a year ago and was employed in the family of Edgar M. HAWKINS, who lives in Highland avenue, Brighton. Mr. HAWKINS is superintendent of the M. D. Knowlton Company, paper box factory in Elizabeth street. The girl, who was highly regarded by the family left the employ of the HAWKINSES three weeks ago to take a place at the plant of Yawman & Erbe, and went to room and board with her brother, Leonard, who is a glass cutter. She was a regular attendant at mount Hor Presbyterian Church and was on her way to the church when she was run down.
It was because Miss GOODRICH was so well liked at the HAWKINS home that her brother did not suspect anything wrong when she did not return to her room Sunday night. He thought she had gone to the HAWKINS home, and would stay overnight, as she had done on other occasions.
All yesterday persons had called at the morgue to look at the body of Miss GOODRICH. Early in the afternoon a young man who declined to give his name called and asked to see the clothing. He said he did not want to look at the body. The clothing was shown to him and he said it was that of Miss GOODRICH. Soon afterward Leonard GOODRICH identified the clothing. He will talk with Coroner KILLIP this morning.
Coroner KILLIP announced yesterday that he would begin the inquest this morning in the case of Allan B. VAN BLARICON, of No. 156 Shepard street, who was killed by an automobile driven by Lamonte DODGSON, of No. 42 Thayer street, in East avenue, near Culver road, on Saturday night. At the conclusion of that inquest the coroner will begin the GOODRICH inquest.
In police court yesterday DODGSON, who is 21 years old, pleaded not guilty to a charge of manslaughter, second degree, and his hearing was set down for October 30th. William A. MacADAM, of No. 593 Park avenue, who ran down Miss GOODRICH, will be tried for manslaughter on Monday next.
Advices from the Homeopathic Hospital last night were to the effect that there was perhaps slight improvement in the condition of John HENINGER, 76 years old, of No. 11 Parsells avenue, who was run down by an automobile in Main street east, near Circle street, Sunday night.

HEAD CRUSHED BY MOTOR CAR

Man Found Senseless in Monroe Avenue Dies on Way to Hospital

William VAN VORST, 57 years old, barn foreman in the employ of the Rochester Brick and Tile Company, was killed by an automobile last night in Monroe avenue beyond the city line. The man's head was crushed into a shapeless mass, the nose was cut off and both legs broken. He died in an ambulance on the way to the Hahnemann Hospital. Sheriff HAMIL and Coroner KILLIP are trying to find the driver of the car.
Details of the accident are meagre, owing to the lateness of the hour at which it occurred. A city-bound Rochester & Eastern car, due at the Exchange street station at 11:20 o'clock, was running along between the brick yards and the city line when the motorman George LENAHAN, of Canandaigua, saw a man lying in the highway west of the tracks. He stopped the car and he and Conductor PHILLIPS went to the spot. VAN VORST was unconscious, but was breathing.
LENAHAN telephoned to H. E. DIE, of No. 722 Garson avenue, train despatcher for the Rochester & Eastern, and he sent a call for the ambulance of the Hahnemann Hospital. The police of the University avenue station were notified.
When the ambulance reached the scene of the accident a son of the victim was bending over the body. The family lives a short distance from where the accident occurred. VAN VOORST was put in the ambulance, which started for the hospital. Death came after the vehicle had gone a few blocks.
Before the injured man was taken from the place of the accident an automobile party on its way out of the city told those present that near Werner park they had passed a motor truck that carried no lights. The truck was making high speed. At 1 o'clock this morning it was not known what progress the sheriff had made in his investigation. The body was removed to the morgue.
The motorman of an R. & E. car arriving early this morning told Coroner KILLIP that he saw an automobile with a broken windshield coming in Monroe avenue about midnight, and that it had license number 64419 N. Y. The motorman could give no description of the machine. The license number does not appear in the Motor Register, which covers the seven counties surrounding Monroe.

PENN YAN GIRL SHOT WHILE FISHING WITH HER FATHER

Gun Was on the Seat in the Boat When It Accidentally Discharged -- Girl Favorite

Penn Yan, Oct 26 - Ruth ROWLEY, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. ROWLEY, of Liberty street, this village, was accidentally killed by the discharge of a shot gun belonging to her father, at about a quarter past five this afternoon. She and her father went to the cottage of Emmett BASSAGE near the Hanford place on the west side of the lake to spend the day fishing. ROWLEY took his gun.
Shortly before the accident a flock of wild ducks flew over the boat from which they were fishing near the shore. ROWLEY killed one duck and wounded another. He reloaded his gun and laid it on the seat. In his efforts to secure the wounded duck in some way the gun, which was double barreled and loaded with a shell containing number twelve shot, was discharged. The shot entered Ruth ROWLEY's body immediately above the heart.
James ROBINSON, who was on shore, heard the report and the girl's cry. He brought them to shore in his motor boat.
Mrs. ROWLEY, who was at home about two miles from the place of the accident, was notified and every effort was made to get her to her daughter before the end came, but the girl died in a very few minutes after being struck, and before her mother arrived. Doctors CONLEY and COX were also too late to see her alive. Coroner COX, after investigation, gave a certificate of accidental death.
Ruth ROWLEY was 14 years old, a student at the Penn Yan Academy and was extremely popular among her school mates. She was fond of out doors sports and was the habitual comrade of her father, who was very proud of her, in his fishing and hunting excursions.
