The Western NY Masonic Relief Association was an insurance program setup for members of the Masons. It had an unusual pay-out program. Each time a member died $1.10 was collected from each of the current members of the organization. Then $1 for each paid member was paid to the survivor. Thus as the number of members grew, the death benefit increased. In 1875 there were 700 members and by 1880 there were 1330 members.

The list below was made from a collection of postcards announcing the death assessments. The postcards were received from Janice Sebring of Vienna, VA. She found them in the house of her grandparents on Crestfield Drive in Irondequoit, NY. The postcards were addressed to William Pauckner. Unfortunately, this collection is not complete for later years.
