LEONARD

Well this is a shot in the dark but here goes! I am looking for a LEONARD family from Lewiston, New York who probably owned a hotel about 1900 to 1910 and possibly before that date. The family had a connection with other LEONARDS in Simcoe County, Ontario. I do not have access to the census for 1900 or 1910 as I live in a small community in Canada nor to a business directory of the time. I would appreciate receiving a note from any LEONARD reseacher who might know of the family. Thanks for your assistance - Fri. April 10, 1998.

LEONARD

Would appreciate any information on James H. & Mary LEONARD who lived in Newfane, Niagara County, New York and were censused in 1850 along with the following children: Rosanah 19, Mariah 13 and John V. 11. Another daughter, Amy Anna 20, and her husband John H. Lewis 23 and their child Rebecca 1 also lived in the same home. The census information states that James and Mary (unk maiden name) were both born in New Jersey. This family lived in Newfane till appx. 1861 when they removed to Kansas. John H. Lewis enlisted in the 12th NY Light Artillary and later died from illness contracted while in the service of the Union. We have retrieved the Civil War records for his service and would like to find more info on his in-laws. We find no record of any of them prior to 1850 in NY and no record of them after 1860. Would anyone know anything about where they came from in New Jersey0 or is there anyone who can put us in touch with decendants of the LEONARD branch? We are grateful for any tidbit of information. Thank-you. Olivia Milton (Wed Sep 10 1997)
