My GGGrandfather Holoferness (Holly) Tarmos Wood was born in 1808 Clay, Onondaga New York.  Regarding the "Early Settlers and Development Of The Town Of Clay", I found no mention of him but that could be because he was half Iroquois.  His wife's name was Irene Perkins and their son's name was William Nathaniel (Woodward) Wood.  He was  born 4 June 1834 in Clay, Onondaga New York. Unfortunately, I have no other information.
