Hawley L. Wilcox & wife To Elisha Cole This Indenture Made this Twenty second day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty two Between Hawley L. Wilcox and Susan L. his wife of the town and County of Onondaga & State of New York of the first part and Elisha Cole of the place aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth That the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of Two thousand four hundred and fifty Dollars to them duly paid have sold and by these presents do grant and convey to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns All that tract or parcel of land situate in the Town of Onondaga and distinquished as fifty acres of Lot number One hundred & Eighty seven in said town and is described in a certificate of our Comptroller filed in our Secretary's Office as being the north part of said lot bounded on the east the north and the west by the lines of the Lot and on the south by a line parallel to the north and south lines of the lot containing as aforesaid fifty acres. Also that other certain piece of land situate on Lot number One Hundred and Seventy nine of the Late Onondaga Reservation bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point in the south line of said lot sixteen chains and eighty links east of the south east corner of land formerly owned by Stephen Griffin and now owned by Alphus Pinkney running thence north eight chains and ninety two links thence west nine chains and six links thence south eight chains and ninety links and thence east on the south line of said lot nine chains & six links to the place of beginning containing eight. of land being the same farms heretofore owned by Sterling Cole. Subject to a certain mortgage executed by Hawley L. Wilcox and Susan S. Wilcox to Gilbert Pinckney for the sum of Sixteen hundred fifty dollars bearing date April first 1861, being part of the above consideration in this deed ____ the appurtenances and all the estate title and interest therein of the said party of the first part and the said Hawley L. Wilcox and Susan L. Wilcox do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that the premises thus conveyed in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns they will forever Warrant and Defend against any person whomsoever lawfully claiming ____ the same or any part thereof In Witness Whereof the parties of the first part have hereunto set hands and seals the day and year first above written. Hawley L. WIlcox {L.S.} Susan L. Wilcox {L.S.} Sealed and Delivered in presence of State of New York Onondaga County p. On this Twenty second day of December in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty two before me the subscriber personally appeared Hawley L. Wilcox and Susan L. his wife to me known to be the same persons described in and who executed the within instrument who severally acknowledged that they executed the same, and the said Susan L. Wilcox on a private examination by me a part from her said husband acknowledged that she executed the same freely and without any fear or compulsion of her said husband Abner Chapman Justice of the Peace Recorded Dec'r 23d 1862 at 1 1/2 P.M.
