Withey-Seymour
A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Augustus Marsh Seymour, Wednesday evening, June 12, 1907, at their house
in Tyler Hollow near Marcellus. Their oldest daughter,
Myrtle
Theresa , was joined in marriage to John Henry Withey of Cortland,
New
York, in the presence of about 150 relatives and friends. The house
was
very prettily decorated for the occasion, the colors in the dining room
being pink and green. The Rev. E.B. Mott performed the marriage
ceremony. The bride was dressed in white silk mull and carried a shower
bouquet of white bride's roses. A sister of the bride, Miss Genevieve
Seymour, was Maid of Honor, and was dressed in pink mull and carried
pink brides-maid roses. The brides-maids, Miss Hattie Murphy and Miss
Lulu Baker were dressed in white mull and carried pink and white
carnations.The groom was attended by James Bessey, Jr. of Utica. The
ribbon girls were the Misses Christina Malcolm, Emma Seymour, Charlotte
Burleton and Fannie Raymond, Miss Leslie Northway played the
wedding
march. After the congratulations and best wishes of friends had been
received, the bride and groom led the way to the dining room where a
bountiful collation was served.
The presents were many and beautiful. The guests
from out of town were: Mr and Mrs.
Almeson Fenner, Mr. and Mrs. G. Fowler, Mr. and Mrs. Max Fowler from
South Onondaga.; Robert Aldridge , Mr. and Mrs. Duane Eggleston of
Watertown, Albert Green, Baldwinsville; Mr. and Mrs.A. John Withey, Sr,
Miss Lena Withey, Florence Withey, Price Withey, Edward Withey, George
Duckett, Roy Murphy, Edward Hourigan, Miss Hattie Murphy of Skaneateles:
Clarence Hubbell, Mr. and Mrs. George Shane, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sheppard,
Miss Sherman, and Miss Sevier, all of Syracuse.
