The marriage of Miss Minnie Durkin, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Walter
Durkin of No. 908 Orange Street, and Daniel Curtin was celebrated at 5
o’clock yesterday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by Rev. John
Grimes of St. Mary’s Church and was witnessed by a large number
of friends and relatives.
The bride was handsomely attired in a gray corded gown, trimmed
with white satin, and carried a bouquet of white roses.
Miss Catherine Durkin, a sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid.
She was dressed in a blue cloth dress and carried pink roses.
Dennis Curtin, a brother of the groom, was best man. The ushers were
James Durkin and Frank Hayes.
After the ceremony a wedding supper was served at the home of the bride’s
parents, at which about 200 friends and relatives were present. The
house was artistically decorated with flowers and plants.
Both the bride and groom are popular. Mrs. Curtin was the recipient
of many presents, among them being many handsome pieces of silver and cut
glass.
The groom is a hoseman of Engine Company No. 1 He was presented
by the members of that company and those of Hook and Ladder Truck Company
No. 1 with a beautiful set of dishes.
Every member of both companies attended the wedding supper last evening.
It being impossible for them all to be absent from quarters at the same
time, the captains allowed them to go in details.
Mr. And Mrs. Curtin left at 11 o’clock last evening for the West, to
be gone fifteen days.
