DePALMA

I recently purchased an old frame online. In it is a wonderful horizontal oval portrait of a man and woman. When I took the photo (17 by 23 inches) out, it says on the back 'Antonio DePalma, Fancher, New York.' It appears to be around turn of the century, maybe as late as 1920. It is a very nice portrait and I'd like to see the family of Antonio have it.

MASON

About 25 years ago, I came across part of a letter written by a Hannah B. Mason of Orleans County. This letter was dated somewhere around the Civil War as it was signed 'The Union Forever', and the letter is of a religious context. It was contained in an old book dated 1862 of Village Sermons. The book, however, was inscribed to someone else. I am interested in finding a descendant of this Hannah B. Mason. I have some information from a pioneer history book that indicates she may be the Hannah Mason who was married to a Jesse Mason.

VANDERLAAN

I have a beautiful, large, 12" x 15" photo, taken approximately 1914, of 9 year old Peter Vanderlaan dressed in a cowboy outfit and holding a lasso. The photo is mounted in an ornate gold frame and is in excellent condition. The back is fortunately marked "Pieter Van der laan, 9 jaar oud, Albion NY". I also have another frame of the same size acquired at the same time that is not marked but looks as it could possibly be his grandparents and is also in excellent condition.

WILSON

While rummaging through old postcards at an antique store in Boone, NC, I found a postcard to Miss Sadie Day from Adah O. Wilson.  Most of the cards in this box were sent to NY and most were dated 1900-1911.  Unfortunately, this one's year of postmark is not visible, but the month and day were July 18.  The card was postmarked in Holley, but the State was not readable other than "N".  The card contains a birthday greeting handwritten by Ms. Wilson to Ms. Day.
