of Constancia in the County of Oswego and State of New York being of sound
mind and memory and Considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory
life do therefore make Ordain Publish and Declare this to be my last will
and testament that is to Say After all my lawful Debts are paid and Discharged
the residue of my Estate real and Personal I give Bequeath and Dispose
of as follows to wit }
to my beloved wife the land
Appendences Situated there On known and Described as the Ferris Farm lying
in the town of Constancia and in the County of Oswego
and State of New York. I give this to my
beloved Wife to
Dispose of as She see fit. in witnefs
when if I hereunto Subscribe my name and affix Seal the Eight Day
of July one thousand Eight hundred and Sixty One (signed in
his hand) Solomon Ferris.
The above written instrument was Subscribed
by the said Solomon Ferris in our Presence and acknowledged by
him to each of us and he at the same time published
and declared the above instrument so subscribed to be his last will and
testament and we at the testators request and in his presence have signed
our names as witnesses
hereto.

In addition to the will is a newspaper
article and Surrogate papers from 1863 showing heirs and next of kin to
be:
"Ambrose Ferris Onieda Lake,
Madison Co N.Y.
Dorance Ferris Whose place of residence
is unknown. Susan M. Hatch. Debby Ann Gage. Catherine Beach.
Phoebe Ferris. Almina Robinso(n) all of full age.
That the value of the personal estate
left by said
deceased will not exceed the sum of $500.
That the said
deceased left Catherine Ferris his widow
him surviving."
