MORROW - At the residence
of her parents, William & Anne Morrow, in
the town of New Haven, on the 5th day
of October A.D. 1879, their
youngest daughter, Mary A. Morrow, aged
11 years, 7 months, and 12
days, very suddenly of heart disease.
Funeral at the Methodist Church at
10 o'clock on Tuesday the 7th day of October
at 10 o'clock a.m. Services at the house at 9 a.m.
COLLINS - In this city, October
5, 1879 Michao Collins aged 50 years.
Funeral Tuesday morning from his late
residence East Eleventh Street at 9 1/2 o'clock and at St. Paul's Church
at 10 o'clock. Friends are invited.
LAVEN - In this city, October 9,
Ann Laven, aged 60 years. Funeral
Saturday at 9:30 from the house East First
Street between Cayuga and
Seneca Streets and at St. Paul's Church
at 10 o'clock. Friends are
invited.
WILCOX - In Scriba, October 9, 1879,
Kezia R. Wilcox, wife of the late
Robert G. Wilcox, aged 78 years, 5 months,
and 3 days. Funeral will be
held Sunday at 11 o'clock a.m. at the
church in Scriba.
REMINGTON - In this city, October
10, 1879, John Remington, aged 73
years. Funeral Sunday morning at
9 o'clock from his late residence, No.
40 East Cayuga Street. Friends are
invited.

Cause of death was cancer of the ear.
Born in Litchfield, Herkimer County in 1806, came to town of Scriba in
Oswego County in 1824 where he lived until 1853 when he removed to this
city and resided here until his death. He leaves a widow and several
children. He was the father of Excise Commissioner J. D. Remington
and of Mrs. Wm H. Gardenier of this city.
Obituary:
October 9, 1879
Hon. Horatio Ballard of Cortland
an able lawyer and one of the most
prominent citizens of the interior of
the State, died yesterday. Mr.
Ballard previous to the war of the rebellion
was a free, soil democrat, but
in 1861 he became an earnest Republican.
In 1862 and 1863 he was
secretary of the State and he represented
Cortland County in the
Assembly in 1807. He was also Senatorial
member of the constitution
convention in 1868, and in all these public
capacities, he provided himself a capable honest, intelligent and popular
official.
COOPER - In this city, October 14,
1879 Ann E., wife of John Cooper
aged 48 years, 1 month and 14 days.

194 West 4th Street, Thursday October
16, at 12:30 p.m. Friends and
acquaintances are invited to attend.
Remains will be conveyed by special train to Hannibal for internment.
SULLIVAN - In this city, October
15th, Frankie J., son of Michael and
Ellen Sullivan, aged 1 year, 5 months,
and 4 days. Funeral Friday from
the parents residence, West Second Street,
No. 224 at 2 o'clock and at
St. John's Church at 2 1/2 o'clock.
Friends are invited.
SATERNOW - In this city, this morning,
October 16, Mrs. Mary, wife of
Mr. Frank Saternow and mother of Mr. Frank
Saternow jr., of this city,
aged 80 years. Notice of funeral
hereafter.

Friday at 1:30 p.m. and at St. Louis Church
at 2 o'clock. Friends and

HARNESS - In this city, Sunday October
19, John Harness, aged 65
years. Funeral Wednesday October

October 8, 1879 by the Rev. Charles H. Watson, Homer C. Townsend of Utica
to Miss Julia F. Broome of Oswego.

Another of Oswego's fair daughters, Miss
Julia F. Broome, has been
carried off by a Utican, Mr. Homer C.
Townsend.
The happy couple left
for Utica, their future home last night,
taking with them the best wishes of
a host of friends.

Oswego Centre October 6 - Mr. Charles
A. Fisk and Miss Effie M.
Warner were united in marriage
last Wednesday afternoon by Rev. H. A. Smith of Detroit assisted by Re.
Dendell Smith of Mansville. After the
ceremony the guests (in number about fifty)
were invited to partake of a
bountiful repast. After collation,
everybody seemed bent on enjoyment
and a more social and pleasant afternoon
could not be had. Vocal and
instrumental music was an enlivening feature
in which the newly married
couple took a conspicuous part.
The presents were numerous and
costly. Among them was a beautiful
pencil drawing by Miss Emma
Adams. The affair was a pleasant
one in all respects.
