Patent Holders in City of Oswego, NY
From 1790 - 1873

Many thanks to C N Johnson, of Racine, WI. for contributing this list to Oswego Co researchers.
28 February 2003, C N Johnson Racine, WI.

Listed are patent holders in Oswego, NY for the years from 1790 thru 1873 inclusive. Source US Patent Office volumes 1 thru 3, Patents for Inventors. Inventions are listed alphabetically A-Z. "A" starts in volume #1 and "Z" ends in volume # 3 and one can recheck the information by locating the invention by the category. Example; an invention for "Cement-rubber" is found under "C" alphabetically. Also, there are additional indexes for individual and groups of years. The advantage for the indexes for earlier years (to 1836) is that it lists the person first (given) name. For later years (and some earlier years) one can look up inventors by surname. Both indexes should be cross-checked as discrepancies have been seen.
Note: patent numbering system started in about mid 1836. Also the following list is inclusive for the city of Oswego only, as the researcher, Charles N. Johnson, was looking for the possibility that his ancestor, Augustin Littman HONE, was issued a patent during the years (1850-1872) when he lived in Oswego.
