Prior to 1790, the area of present day Putnam County was the Philipse Patent. When Adolpse Philipse died, the Patent was divided into lots and inherited by his children. A map of the land showing these lots has been scanned by mailing list member, Janet Newman, who has generously shared it here with her fellow researchers.
