Bailey Family Bible

This Bible was printed in Philadelphia in 1816 by W. Casey, No. 121 Chestnut St., and has the name Warren Bailey written on its inside front cover. This transcription was done by Adolphus H. Sage in 1904 from the Bible itself, which was then in the possession of Warren's grandson, Edson Bailey of Sand Lake. The Warren Bailey family Bible information was submitted to the Rensselaer Co., NY GenWeb site by Dennis F. Marr.
"Sand Lake July 17, 1904. At the house of Edson Bailey I find an old Bible full of data as follows. The records are very old but beautifully written. [Note: the page references are to this same notebook of Sage's where a particular individual is discussed further].

Joseph's family are recorded carefully all on one page with births all in first column and deaths in second column. Four deaths are recorded, viz:
Maria Bailey d. Oct 20, 1821 aged 1 yr. 4 mo.
Sarah Buckbee d. Dec. 1, 1829, aged 74 yrs., 11 mo., 13 days
Josiah Buckbee d. June 20, 1840, aged 85 yrs., 2 mo., 12 d. [Note: subsequent research determined that Josiah died on that date, but in 1839].
Another named Reichard [Note: most likely Warren's daughter Harriett, who married George Reichard].

Mrs. Bailey volunteered the statement that Warren had 13 children. No deaths are recorded on this page, so "Maria" in the other record is the one above.
