This list includes all the libraries for which I can find contact details that are located in Rensselaer County, NY - large or small, with genealogical collections or without. My reasoning is that libraries - even very small ones - tend to be a focal point for a community, and they are a font of local knowledge. If you live far away, you can contact a library in one of our communities, and even if it has no genealogical collection of its own, the librarian might be able to put you in touch with the nearest other library that DOES have a relevant genealogical collection.
