This photograph was kindly contributed by Paul Hartmann of Little Falls, Herkimer County, NY. Do any of you know the location of this hill or the function of this observatory? If so, we'd love to hear from you! NOTE from Lin Van Buren: Sorry to be a killjoy, but if this hill's height really is 1,995 feet, then this definitely is not the highest point in Rensselaer County. Macomber Mountain in the eastern part of the town of Berlin is 2,798 feet above sea level. Thanks, Paul, for an interesting photo to spark our curiosity!
