CADY, Royal. Seeking birth, marriage, death information on Royal Cady and his presumed wife Hannah Cady, and also on a presumed brother Solomon Cady. Royal was born in about 1780. Hannah was born in about 1790. The 1820 US Census for Sandlake lists Royal with 10 people in his household. Hannah Cady is listed in the index of the 1830 US Census for Sandlake. Neither was found in the 1840 US Census for Sandlake, although one of their presumed sons, whom I am researching, Calvin T. Cady, was listed in that census. Royal and Hannah Cady are listed in the 1850 US Census in Poestenkill, next to Calvin T. Cady and his family. I cannot find Royal and Hannah Cady after the 1850 US Census, although I have followed the line of Calvin T. Cady (born 1808-1810, supposedly in Rensselaer County) and Calvin's wife Catherine Pitcher (born May 28, 1824) to Kendall, Orleans County, NY. Sandlake was split off from the towns of Greenbush and Berlin in 1812. Poestenkill was split off from Sandlake in 1848. Royal Cady and Solomon Cady (his presumed brother) are listed as "early settlers of Poestenkill" in the History of Renssealaer County. I have not been able to link Royal to the published genealogy of Nicholas Cady, although I believe there are places where he could fit in. Peter Brennan 0698

Huntington and Maria Etta UPHAM of Stephentown. Albert had a son named George A. b. 9/1/1866/1868 in a town called Allen Budge, NY, which could be Allen Bridge or Ulin Bridge, although I can find no listing of these towns. Or maybe this location could even be Malden Bridge, Columbia County, NY (the writing is not decipherable on his death certificate). Albert's second child, a daughter named Anna CARPENTER, born 1869/1870 in Pittstown, Rensselaer County, NY. Albert A. (later known as A. A. Carpenter) moved to Lyons (now Clinton), Clinton County, Iowa in about 1875 or 1876, so there should be no record of him after 1875/1876 in NY. Albert was VP of a paper mill in Lyons, Iowa. I suspect that he died in Elkhart, Indiana after 1905. Kenneth Gene Carpenter 0598 [email address updated in Nov 2010]
