Last Will and Testament Mary [Nichols] Chapman of Pittstown |
In the name of God I MARY CHAPMAN of the Town of Pittstown in the County of Rensselaer
and State of New York considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of
sound mind and memory do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner
and form following: that is to say,
First I give to each of my sons ASA CHAPMAN and JONAH CHAPMAN a feather bed.
To my four grandchildren (viz) WAITY CHAPMAN, MARGARET CHAPMAN, JOHN CHAPMAN and
SARAH CHAPMAN, sons and daughters of Asa Chapman, [I give] all my sheep. All my beds
and bedding I give and bequeath to my daughters to be divided between them equally.
All my money and all that may be due to me at my demise I give to my son Asa Chapman
and his heirs.
And finally I hereby appoint and constitute my son ASA CHAPMAN sole executor to this
my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
Signed sealed published and declared to be my Last Will and Testament in presence
of the [etc] ... this 16th day of August 1853.
