Last Will and Testament Lodewick Bornt of Brunswick |
The last will & testament of Lodowick Bornt - Recorded May 18th, 1818.
In the name of God Amen. I Lodewick Bornt of the Town of Brunswick, county of
Rensselaer and State of New York, being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind
and memory, blessed be Almighty God for the same, Do make and publish this my last
Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say),
First, I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife ELISABETH BORNT all my household
furniture together with all my notes & debts due to me of every kind and nature. - I
also give and bequeath to her two Cows and six Sheep. The Cows & Sheep are to be kept
for her free of any expense by my two sons JOHN and PETER so long as she shall
remain my Widow. I also give her the use and privilege of one half of my house
so long as she shall remain my Widow. -
I do also give and bequeath unto my daughter SARAH BORNT, single woman, the sum of
one hundred dollars to be paid in one year after my decease,
And I do also give and bequeath unto my eldest son JOHN L. BORNT sixty four acres
of the farm on which I now live situated lying and being in the town of Brunswick
in the County and State aforesaid, the said Sixty four Acres of land I will & order
to be taken off of the west end of my farm which said sixty four Acres, I give and
bequeath the same unto the said John L. Bornt his heirs & assigns forever. -
And I do hereby give & devise unto my youngest son PETER BORNT his heirs & assigns
all the residue and remainder of my real estate together with all the buildings
thereon & all the privileges & appurtenances thereunto belonging situated lying
and being in the town & county & state aforesaid
& lastly as to all the rest residue & remainder of my personal estate goods and
chattels of every kind I will & order to be equally divided among my three
Children John L., Sarah and Peter not to be divided until my youngest son shall
arrive of age.
And I do hereby Appoint my beloved wife Elisabeth Bornt & my brother-in-law
JACOB SIPPERLY Executors of this my last Will & Testament, hereby revoking all
former wills by me made.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty sixth day of May
in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and seventeen -

Signed, Sealed, published and declared by the above named Lodowick Bornt to be his
last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our
names as witness in presence of the testator.
