Last Will and Testament Christopher Snyder of Greenbush |
The will of Christopher Snyder with property. Recorded 26th Sep 1821.
In the name of God, I, CHRISTOPHER SNYDER, of the town of Greenbush, County of
Rensselaer & State of New York, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life
and being of sound & perfect mind & memory (Blessed be almighty God for the same),
do make & publish this my last Will & Testament in manner & form following -
First - after death I recommend my soul unto the Lord Jesus to be received in His
blessed mansion of Glory & this earthly tabernacle to be mingled with its fallow
clay in a Christian-like manner -
Secondly - it is my request that my funeral charges shall be paid out of my estate
Thirdly - I do give & bequeath to my son JACOB SNYDER his heirs & assigns forever all
my real property, my farm on which I now live situated & being in the town of
Greenbush County of Rensselaer & State of New York. Also I give unto him the said
Jacob Snyder my horses harness & wagon my sleighs excepting the pleasant sleigh
two cows & a heifer & the cow which his wife Christina brought on the premises or
one as good to be returned unto her again. Also six sheep three hogs to which I
give him his choice likewise my
And thirdly [sic] I give and bequeath to my son CHRISTOPHER SNYDER
one dollar to be paid one year after my decease to him his heirs & assigns forever.
I further give and bequeath unto my daughter SUSANNAH SNYDER (or WESTFALL) to her
heirs and assigns forever the sum of four hundred twenty eight dollars to be paid
two years after my decease.
And I hereby give and bequeath to my son NICHOLAS SNYDER one dollar to be paid
one year after my decease.
I do also give & bequeath to my daughter JOANNAH SNYDER (or WESTFALL) to her,
her heirs & assigns forever four hundred twenty eight dollars to be paid in
two years after my decease.
Likewise I give & bequeath unto my daughter CATY SNYDER (or SNOOK) & to her heirs
and assigns forever four hundred twenty eight dollars to be paid in two years
after my decease.
I also give & bequeath to my son WILLIAM SNYDER to him his heirs & assigns forever
one dollar to be paid in one year after my decease.
I do give & bequeath unto my son CHRISTOPHER SNYDER'S CHILDREN, their heirs & assigns
forever four hundred twenty eight dollars to be paid to them, their heirs & assigns
an equal share of the said sum of four hundred twenty eight dollars (viz) I so hereby give & bequeath unto my son NICHOLAS SNYDER'S CHILDREN their
heirs & assigns forever four hundred twenty eight dollars to them their heirs
& assigns an equal share of the said sum of four hundred twenty eight dollars.
I also give & bequeath to my several heirs to them their heirs & assigns forever
all my personal property that has not been mentioned in the aforesaid will
excepting wheat sufficient to pay & satisfy the rent that is then due on the
farm aforementioned to the aforesaid (viz)
I furthermore appoint JACOB SNYDER, GILBERT WESTFALL & SIMON WESTFALL to be the
executors of this my last will testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand & seal the thirteenth day of July
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & eleven.

Signed, Sealed and published by the above-named Christopher Snyder to be his
last will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed
our names as witness in presence of the testator and of each other -

I give & bequeath to my grandson CHRISTOPHER SNYDER, JUNR., to his heirs & assigns forever
sixty one dollars & fourteen cents to be paid when he the said Christopher Snyder
Junr becomes of lawful age.
I also give to my grandson PHILIP SNYDER to him his
heirs & assigns sixty one dollars & fourteen cents to be paid to him the said
Philip Snyder when he becomes of lawful age.
I do give to my granddaughter MARY SNYDER to her heirs & assigns forever
sixty one dollars & fourteen cents to be paid when she the said Mary Snyder
becomes of lawful age.
I do hereby give & bequeath to my grandson ADAM SNYDER to him his heirs and
assigns forever sixty one dollars & fourteen cents to be paid to him the said
Adam Snyder becomes of lawful age.
I also give and bequeath unto my granddaughter EVE SNYDER to her heirs & assigns
forever sixty one dollars & fourteen cents to be paid to her when the said
Eve Snyder becomes of lawful age.
I do give & bequeath to my grandson DANIEL SNYDER to his heirs & assigns forever
sixty one dollars & fourteen cents to be paid to the said Daniel Snyder becomes
of lawful age.
I do give & bequeath to my granddaughter CATY SNYDER to her heirs assigns forever
sixty one dollars & fourteen cents to be paid when the said Caty Snyder becomes
of lawful age.
I do hereby give and bequeath to my granddaughter ANNA SNYDER (or TRAVER) to her
heirs & assigns forever sixty one dollars fourteen cents to be paid in two years
after my decease
I also give & bequeath to my granddaughter ELIZABETH SNYDER (or GROESBECK) to her
heirs & assigns forever sixty one dollars fourteen cents to be paid in two years
after my decease.
I do hereby bequeath to my granddaughter NAOMY SNYDER to her heirs & assigns
forever sixty one dollars fourteen cents to be paid whenever the said Naomy Snyder
becomes of lawful age.
I do give and bequeath to my grandson CHRISTOPHER SNYDER THE THIRD to him, his heirs
& assigns forever sixty one dollars fourteen cents to be paid when the said
Christopher Snyder becomes of lawful age.
I give & bequeath to my grandson HENRY SNYDER to him his heirs & assigns forever
sixty one dollars fourteen cents to be paid when the said Henry Snyder becomes
of lawful age.
I likewise give & bequeath to my granddaughter CATY SNYDER THE THIRD to her heirs
& assigns forever sixty one dollars fourteen cents to be paid when the said
Caty Snyder becomes of lawful age.
I give & bequeath unto CHRISTOPHER SNYDER an equal proportion of the
aforesaid personal property to him, his heirs and assigns forever.
I also give & bequeath to my daughter SUSANNAH SNYDER (or WESTFALL) an equal
proportion of the aforesaid personal property to her, her heirs & assigns forever.
I likewise give & grant to my son NICHOLAS SNYDER to him his heirs & assigns
forever an equal portion of the aforesaid personal property.
I do give & bequeath to my daughter JOANNAH SNYDER (or WESTFALL) an equal
proportion of the aforesaid personal property to her, her heirs & assigns forever.
I hereby give & bequeath to my daughter CATY SNYDER (or SNOOK) an equal proportion
of the aforesaid personal property to her, her heirs assigns forever.
I further give & bequeath to my son JACOB SNYDER an equal proportion of the
aforesaid personal property to him his heirs & assigns forever.
