Arthur Hallenbeck obituary

Arthur Hallenbeck
April 12, 1929

Arthur Hallenbeck, assistant superintendent of the Atlantic and Pacific stores in North Adams, Mass., formerly of this city, died at his home in North Adams today, after an illness of about six weeks, of heart trouble.

Mr. Hallenbeck lived here about ten years, and was manager of an A. and P. store here. While living in Schenectady he attended the Albany Street M. E. church. He left Schenectady for North Adams a year ago. His home was formerly in Middleburgh. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Florence Rivenburgh Hallenbeck, of North Adams, and a half-brother, O. R. Hallenbeck, of this city. - Schenectady Union-Star.

Great regret was felt here on learning of the death of Arthur Hallenbeck at a comparatively early age. His boyhood years were spent here, where he was educated and began his business career as a barber, catering to a large number of patrons most acceptably.

Later, entering into the mercantile business with the A. and P. Co., he made rapid advances until he reached the top. His wife is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rivenburgh of this village. Mrs. Caroline Neville is an aunt of the deceased. Mrs. Stanley Hazelton and Miss Belle Neville are cousins.

The funeral, which was attended by relatives and friends here, and by a delegation of A. and P. store executives, was held at the M. E. church on Tuesday at 2 o'clock p.m., Rev. F. J. Ball officiating.
