Richmondville Cemetery

Listings on this page are not necessarily complete and may not represent all of the stones in this cemetery. Please send additional submissions and corrections to Doug Boyer

This compilation was done by an on-site survey conducted the week of Sept. 17-24, 1997 by Vernon F. Hall and Roger P. Smith . This is still an active cemetery. It was originally two and was combined in the early 1900ís when exhumation and reburial of "family" plots occurred. Many of the older marble tombstones are suffering severe erosion and are difficult to read. We have taken care to be as accurate and complete as circumstances permit, occasionally mistakes occur, we apologize in advance. The numbers in parentheses behind the surname is a number we assigned during the survey for location purposes. The last number indicates section of the cemetery. The first two numbers are the page number of the survey. Some wives, while buried by their spouses, have their natal name on their own stones and are therefore located under their maiden names. In those cases, we have included the husbandís name in parentheses. by Vernon F. Hall and Roger P. Smith

Recent submissions by others are included as notes within the listing. (DeForest Brooker, Ronald Brooker, Sr., Susan Kenyon, Patricia Lindsey (Spangenberg), Glenn Warner and Nancy (McCann) Bartholomew-Seltzer)

Photos from the cemetery are located at the bottom of the page

note: Camera icon ( ) links to a picture of that person's gravestone.  Tombstone pictures contributed by Bruce Miers and Allison Haskins.

OLD RICHMONDVILLE CEMETARY

(BEHIND POST OFFICE AND METHODIST CHURCH ON BLUFF)

(This compilation was achieved by an on-site survey conducted Sept. 23 1997

by Vernon F. Hall and Roger P. Smith. This cemetery is in very bad condition.

Many stones were in pieces, some had been "saved" by having their bottom portions

reset in concrete, thereby obliterating many dates and ages. There is evidence

of many burials without headstones. This cemetery is often used as a playground

and/or shortcut by neighboring children for many years, perhaps generations.)
